in moonlight by PS Conway

the Book of the Dead

recalls you in moonlight

silver bones

flesh of gold

hair like lapis lazuli

high upon the desert sands

with starshine your sacred scrim

the whimsy of the night wind

tugging gently on your raiment

its sequined scarab caress

lost in a shadowed codex

as with memory, treasure rusts

and i am left … longing

  1. Thanks for this wonderful post, Gabriela… hopefully everyone has a fun chuckle at the silly eclipse video, too. I know my daughter and I laughed ourselves to tears over it. 🙏🙏🌹🌹☘☘

    1. Oh, my pleasure Patrick. The poem is one of my favs. I have many favs. As for your moon is fantastic. B did such a good job that I could not stop to make my own moon. It’s coming up on X and it has no relations with what I wrote for VSS.haha! But it’s my moon! Thank you to B.

  2. Moonlight… silver… gold… lapis lazuli… desert sands… scrim… raiment… sequined scarab… codex…! These are a few of my favorite things.
