Roman Inspiration (II) – Poetry on X

Dear Readers, while we continue to bring you the beautiful poetry of my fellow poets from X, please do nor forget that we are preparing Petals of Haiku: An Anthology. The Anthology has a cover art painted by Hikari on a background photo by Naoki Kimura. See here.

Now, the marvelous poetry of some of my fellow poets from X written for a photo I took in Rome.

Clive Reed @clivereed57

Ancient Rome
legend of the past
when emperors drank wine with the gods
Pluto gathered fallen souls
Ringside as gladiators died
Cupid’s arrow found its mark
While Venus lived in stricken hearts
As the legions marched
And though it fell
Great ruins live to tell the tale

A glass of vino and her
Italiano inspiration
Roma-mantic

Vanessa – Psychology Couch @thepsycoach

Oh, Rome… The city of majestic wonder,
where love feels like thunder
but also soft and tender
like juicy peaches in late summer

M.S. Reggiori @ShafiekReggiori

Upon which steps have the father of my father played
While his father had his name engraved

In the Collegio Araldico de Roma

& the night washes it,
like the salt, extracted by the waves

The old sediment absorbing the elements of its fate

But we stand yet…

Soon more poems.. Have a great day!
