You needed a rescuer
I was somewhat of an enabler
we tip-toed on thin ice strings
tied to our waists
on opposite sides
neither of us wanted to be wrong
nor felt we had a strong bond
things were left unsaid
but some secrets
I’ll hold on
until my last breath
