Literary Revelations is excited to share with our community a new book release by our friend and excellent poet, Gary Gautier. Gary’s poems have appeared in Literary Revelations Journal and in MasticadoresUSA, among many other places, and his thoughtful reviews for our poets has made him a valuable part of our community.
The Day We Met in Earthly Time continues Gary’s quest to use the daily events in earthly time as windows to the timeless realm of the archetypes, whether in reference to Greek mythology or to the “primitive roots of consciousness,” as Carl Jung says. The poems range from haiku-sized poems both crisp and suggestive to full-page poems that build and flow with the mood, but all are tied to that project of both capturing and transcending the concrete imagery and intimacies of earthly time. Gary’s previous collection, Schematics and Assemblies of the Cosmic Heart, was shortlisted for the Faulkner-Wisdom Poetry Prize.
