Featured poetry by Mary Bone

Literary Revelations is thrilled to present you with the poetry of Mary Bone.

Poetry is something more philosophic and of graver import than history, since its statements are of the nature of universals, whereas those of history are singulars.

Arsitotle

Mary Bone has been writing poetry since childhood. Her poems have appeared in The Oklahoma Today Magazine, Poetry Catalog, Visual Verse, Literary Yard, Backchannels Journal and other venues.

Time Is Fleeting

All we had was time-
It was fleeting.
Sand through an hourglass-
my heart is still beating.
Smoldering to the drum
beats from long ago,
when you played my song.

Stars In Our Eyes

Adventure called us
with a thousand twinkles.
There were splashes of color,
purple and blue,
as we stood by the window
looking at nights in velvet.
A sprinkling of stars shone brightly,
It illuminated our minds with stardust.
We found serenity looking into
each other’s eyes.
As we stepped out on our veranda by the ocean,
our lives could have been a painting
with indigo shadows and lights captured on canvas,
as night birds flew overhead.
