Odd Generosity Of Spirit?
If “philanthropy” comes from the Greek word philanthrōpía,
which combines the words philos meaning “love”
and anthropos meaning “humanity”
“misanthropy” is opposite.
John Milton’s epics Paradise Lost well as Paradise Regained
in their brilliant way regaled Satan to be interesting
more flawed just like us rather than relatively
impassive boringly perfect God.
May Bindweed growgrowgrow!
–thanks to Bindweed Magazine
Convolvulus Arvensis’ stigmatized
since a nuisance
for growing across garden fences
then choking off
their immaculately pruned flowers.
But no one thinks
about Bindweed’s beauty opening
trumpets to world
shouting to be heard as much as
neatly manicured
artificially honed flowers given all
of establishment’s
prestige while rest are left to wilt.

Strana generosità d’animo?
.
Se “filantropia” deriva dalla parola greca philanthrōpía,
che combina le parole philos che significa “amore”
e anthropos che significa “umanità”,
“misantropia” è l’opposto.
I poemi epici di John Milton, Paradiso perduto e Paradiso riconquistato,
hanno brillantemente intrattenuto Satana con l’idea di essere
più imperfetto di noi, piuttosto che
un Dio relativamente impassibile e noiosamente perfetto.

Gerard Sarnat will envy me a little, seeing as my granddaughter will be born next April. I translated his poetry into Italian, beautiful, aphorsitic, and I will publish it on Sunday 9 February in my weekly column Gioielli Rubati. I kindly ask you to notify the author, thanks and greetings from Italy
Thank you so much Flavio. Oh, my goodness, what a wonderful news. Good look with everything.
I will notify him.
Best wishes, Gabriela
Thank you!
