Inflation News
“Did you see that, Ed?”
“What?”
“Egg prices.”
Edna pointed to the flat screen. They watched the news over breakfast.
Damn. Egg prices.
An entire election had been fought over egg prices.
“They’re going through the roof, Ed.”
“Did you have to say that, Edna?”
She only repeated the news.
“I guess we can kiss scrambled eggs goodbye, Ed.”
He swallowed some coffee.
“Do you think we should buy a chicken, Edna?”
Now there was an idea. She gave him some credit for knowing that chickens came before eggs.
“Nah… It’d only be like that hamster you bought.”
That was years before. He was allergic to cats, and she to dogs. But a hamster? He brought home a hamster – Ed Junior – as a pet.
And then, under Ed’s care, Ed Junior died immediately.
Announcement
My outstanding contributors,
@LR_Publisher, just sent out letters of acceptance (or rejection) for our upcoming book Tranquility: An Anthology of Haiku. Congratulations to everyone who was accepted. Please help me spread the news. Soon, we will send you the whole design of the cover – as you know, the art on the cover belongs to Japanese artist Hikari and the fine art photography included in the book to Japanese artist Naoki Kimura.
At this point, the manuscript is in the hands of the formatter, and we will not accept any modifications.
Thank you for your understanding.
Have a great week!

Exciting Success: All Books published by Literary Revelations have become #1 Amazon Top Releases and/or #1 Bestsellers!

Whimsically enjoyable 😊🌏
Haha. I really liked this flash fiction piece.
And this part actually made me chuckle. Ed just needs to leave animals alone.
“But a hamster? He brought home a hamster – Ed Junior – as a pet.
And then, under Ed’s care, Ed Junior died immediately.”
A fun poem for sure!
Congratulations on another wonderful anthology, Gabriela! 💕👏👏👏
