Death around me

Everywhere around me
dead people
Armies of dead people
even children are dead
even newborns
come out to the light
-a light weak and pale without any warmth-
are born by dead wombs
they suckle dead breasts
milk enriched with
deadly sleep
I am terrified
I am searching for an alive sight
I am horrified
I live among the deads
My nostrils are burning
by the heavy odour of ptomaine
Carcasses are marching
they talk to me
they touch me with dead hands
they look at me with empty eyes
Everyone died
My people
My friends
Those I knew
and the unknown ones
When?
When did the world die?
Where was I
when the world was dying?
Did I kill the world inside me?
Maybe I see the world
through my dead eyes…
