Andrei Marin
From a young age, I was fascinated by the digital world—a passion nurtured early on by my parents, who encouraged me to explore technology and design. While my father was dedicated to film photography, surrounding our home with classic cameras and rolls of film, my heart leaned toward digital medium. I fell in love with the immediacy of the screen—the ability to see a captured moment instantly.
My artistic path intersected with environmental action during my two years at the School of Arts in Bucharest. Under the mentorship of a brilliant teacher, I joined a volunteer association dedicated to clearing trash from Romania’s forests. Carrying my digital camera into those woods changed everything. As we restored the landscape, I began documenting our work, realizing that photography could become a powerful voice for environmental conservation.
Protecting our planet requires active commitment. Recycling, reuse, and conscious consumption are not abstract ideals—they are vital necessities. Every day, roughly one million tons of plastic are produced, yet only 9% is recycled, while the vast majority pollutes natural ecosystems.
This book presents my response to that reality. Through a colorful, minimalist aesthetic born of personal optimism, I transform discarded materials into vibrant visual collages. For over two decades, I have bridged my love for nature with digital art to highlight our human impact. The artwork in these pages is both a celebration of environmental stewardship and an invitation to find joy, beauty, and renewal in what we choose to preserve.
Welcome to my visual playground. Thank you for embarking on this journey with me.
