Anger Vs. Anger

Memory versus Memory.
two jaws, fixed firm,
enemy eyes locked
tarnished key
long ago lost, slumbers atop
a yellowing album
languishing in a loft,
a spider spins twisted tales
betwixt photographs
in a house once called home.

Lawyer versus Lawyer.
four walls and a ticking clock,
money counted by time,
ugly white knuckles
grip neutral Swiss pens
scribbling conflicting ink,
mouths that lyricised love
now holler hate.

Tongue versus Tongue.
slurs spat, counter-attacked,
venom spat again,
toxic motes mingle,
lavender lies
hang in yesterday’s air,
blotters idly bask
absorbing stories,
fancy files sidle up
to hide them within.

Greed versus Greed.
age-old brutalities
of take, take, take,
wretched wedding bands corroded,
golden carats dulled,
retaliation, regret.

Loser versus Loser.
vengeance winning post, spied,
utopia twinkles, neon contempt,
two parties charge, miserable,
steeds of valour
freedom snorts,
but only bedlam awaits,
an insidious race,
neither will win.

Sorrow versus Sorrow.
